Re: Use for material's absorption color
Thanks for the clarification! So if I understand it correctly absorption on a material level is more like a coating, not sub-surface absorption for a SSS / translucency effect. A volume node is needed for that.

Use for material's absorption color
Hi,
What's the common use of a LuxCoreRender material's Absorption functions? It seems that it only changes the surface color, or can you also achieve some SSS effect with it, as opposed to adding a Volume node?
Thanks!

List of changes in daily builds
Hi,
Is there a list of changes in the daily released LuxCoreRender builds, comparable to this list of changes in the Blender master builds?
I'd like to bookmark such a daily list, as I update Blender and LuxCoreRender on a daily basis.
Thanks!

Thank you!
This was my first LuxCoreRender exploration, including trying out material settings. It requires some study, but you can get great results if you take the time.

Fresnel properties of LuxCoreRender materials
Hi, Just a — probably naive — question: does every LuxCoreRender material include physically correct Fresnel properties? I'm asking this because Cycles doesn't have this in its standard materials. You need to add a Fresnel node, and that falloff is not physically correct. I believe Cycles Principled...

Thank you!
I didn't create it for animation, although I've retopologized it for a neater surface, so it could be animated, but right now I'll leave it as a still image.
