Hi,
It seems that no one wants to answer.
I'm quite sure that with a little work lux core could have the best IES integration that exists in rendering market. Even professional products struggle with the usage of the different orientations in IES.

Handling of relative refractive indices
Hi, This is my situation... I have a very glossy refractive surface. Its like a piano black finish. This face uses the "use IOR" option with an IOR of 1.5. It's diffuse color is set to perfect black. It's roughness is 0.001. The exterior volume of this face is a clear acrylic volume, also ...

Support for more IES variations
Hi, I'm trying to set up a virtual automotive lighting head light testing environment. The idea is to have a road scene that shows the quality of low beam/driving beam/etc. light distribution. I'm in early beginning of this project, but I'm already struggling with the usage of IES lights. My main pr...

Re: Understanding .ies parameters, efficacy
Hi, Totally agree with marcatore proposal. For technical use it would be useful to define all possible light sources with suitable values and units. From my point this means. Area lights may use [lm] Point light sources also in [lm] Laser sources may defined in [W] but make users aware that this is ...

Re: Understanding .ies parameters, efficacy
Hi, This seems to be a good chance to be the smartass. The power in W that is stored in an IES file is the electrical power consumption. It doesn't really say anything about the real brightness. The luminous flux in lm is the measure that gives the amount of light that is emitted by the luminarie. S...

Re: anisotropic metal UV problem
Hi,
Thanks for helping me. I've additionally added a normal texture to emphasis the polishing direction.

stupid me, it was really simply the position of the lightsource and the orientation of the disc. It's might be light falling at different angle.
Moved lamp a bit to the right:

Re: anisotropic metal UV problem
Hi,
I've tried to apply the given solution on a new mesh.
Working with the same material properties leads to a different render result.
Do you have any idea why?
Left disc is from aniso2.blend, right disc is mine: This is the blend file. BR

Re: Want to have a diffuse air inside a room and clear air outside
Hi, Thanks for this information. If I got it right this heterogenious volume parameters create an incredible advanced variant of the null- material-box solution that was discussed in threads before... I still don't understand why a camera that is placed in an homogenous volume can't see the sky behi...

Re: Want to have a diffuse air inside a room and clear air outside
Hi, thanks for the sample file. I really like the result. I do like the setup as well, but unfortunatly I don't understand the parametrs that were used in heterogenious volume definition. I still don`t understand why it works with this volume type and why it doesn`t do the trick with a homogenous vo...

Re: Want to have a diffuse air inside a room and clear air outside
Hi all, this is the same *.blend file than before only the camera volume has been set to the diffuse one, that I'd like to have inside the room. As you could see it directly influences the visiblity of the sky outside the windows. It becomes foggy. Diffuse_World1.jpg Diffuse_World_Volume1.blend Is i...
