Re: Sphere and MapSphere light sources
So, Dade, this feature will be useful to have IES lights with "soft shadows" ?

Re: Alpha5: Visible to camera behaviour
Thank you Sharlybg, nice Blender tips, some of them I've already known but nice to see something new. So, if I model correctly the spotlight, what kind of light should I use? How do you "model" the light distribution? Do you leave that the light reflects into the projector or do you use IE...

Re: Alpha5: Visible to camera behaviour
Btw the way it is really better to consider a 3d scene as a real world project and try to work with real photographer constraints and approach. Exactly. Ok...I quite agree with you but, again, sometimes is not the quickly and efficient way to render an image (as efficient I'm speaking about time sp...

Alpha5: Visible to camera behaviour
Before opening a bug I'd like to understand how and where use this new feature. In a previous post where we've discussed about the light visibility, Dade replies that he'll introduce a "visible to camera" option also for the lights so I try it. When I activate that option, the light (or ob...

Re: Lux & Love
I'm not a big fan of jevels renders...but this is really really good and quite different (in a positive way).
Good result and good showcase for dispersion!!!

Re: issue on ies light intensity
it would be great to have that kind of preview.
Also 3dsmax has that kind of preview and it useful to find easly and visually the orientation and distribution of the light.

Re: IES file and soft shadow
Good. I hope to see this in the future. About the visible shape I think it's always a pity to have it necessarily visible because it force you to build the 3d model of the light to visually justify the floating (imagine an interior render scenario) bright disc (or rectangle of an area light) and som...

Re: IES file and soft shadow
@Dade Just a premise. I know Luxcore team is a really really small team so , please, consider what I'm reporting just a contribution to the thread. It's not a "make this or luxcore is a s..t" :) . My daily render engine is Vray and it offers the opportunity to use the IES "shape"...

IES file and soft shadow
I've tested the IES feature with a point light (I've used this kind of light because I can hide the source, if I use the area light I have the area light mesh visible) but it seems that I can't achieve soft shadows. Is it something wrong with my setup or is it designed in his way? Is it the correct ...
