Re: Dirt/Fingerprints on Glass

Why not mix glass with matte?
Also instead of a texture driving roughness directly the texture could mix clear glass with rough glass (instead of matte), minimising the darkening effect.

I'm pretty sure it is not going to be a problem.
Great, that sounds like another welcome speedup, thanks alpistinho and Dade for these improvements!

Re: Adaptive sampling improvements

The examples look very promising, how well does this work in combination with OIDN?

Re: Handling of relative refractive indices

Glossy is not a transparent material so there is no refraction at all :?: Or are you mixing glossy with something else ? But an IOR setting can be activated (I assume this does activate angle dependent (fresnel) reflection). The question is what happens when inside a volume with the same or a diffe...

Re: Direct Light cache: how to avoid splotches?

I'm also not happy of PGI caustic cache. Me too, but I think it is not urgent. Maybe better to take a break from it, read some more papers and wait for some ideas. From what I gather users want now: - principled shader - 2.8 Luxblend version - PGI animation I'd suggest to implement PGI animation, f...

Re: LuxCore promo clip

I don't think my stuff is good enough for an official demo. But once persistent cache is working we will be able to make animations from Charlie's example scenes and maybe Laci can put something together like his pool scene and then we'll get somewhere. It would help though to have the principled sh...

Re: PhotonGI cache

would it be possible here to disable visibility/metropolis distribution Yes, if you switch from the PhotonGI METROPOLIS sampler to RANDOM Ok, now this is not exposed in Blender, same as the new persistent cache (yet). I could do this in LuxCoreUI but not with animation. So I'd like to ask for photo...
