Re: LuxCore multipass composite
Okay, that's also good to know. My concern is that when I'm doing multipass compositing, I wan't to avoid ''hacks'' like subtracting and making negative values, because then my image breaks when I start tweaking individual aov's. Everything should be comped in additive. There is a workaround, where ...

LuxCore multipass composite
Here is just an overview of what to do with LuxCore aov's. I call aov beauty image that is sum of the passes and combined pass is render beauty. Caustics can be extracted with subtracting aov beauty from combined (render beauty). This intorduces negative values, but if extracted caustics now added t...

Re: (Open)Subdiv and Displacement shapes
I guess if topology is evenly spread it doesn't matter. But for things like bricks and sharp hardsurface things it might be useful. I think we can replicate this with blender modifiers to check if it's really useful or not

Re: (Open)Subdiv and Displacement shapes
Cool idea for mesh displacement, to even out normals. Could LuxCore's displacment benefitfrom this technique?

Re: How to render fire
Also one tip I discovered when rendering fire, don't use colors for fire. Best is to have like 2 shades of red based on some simulation attribute. Because it seems to me fire color behaves best when just increasing emission and playing with that instead of colors. I also considered making this sugge...

Re: Armorpaint and Lux
Yeah, I was thinking about the standalone LuxCore solution. Would it make sense to do it that way?

Re: Armorpaint and Lux
Honestly I don't know. I see that plugins are made with javascript, but that might not be relevant for this.

I also asked Armorpaint developers about it so let's see what they respond

Armorpaint and Lux
I just started playing with armorpaint and thought what if it had a feature like in substance where you could with one button klick see your model in Iray render. But instead armorpaint could have a link with LuxCore. So user can just hit render and LuxCore window would pop up with textures and ever...
