Re: Article about free renderers, featuring LuxCoreRender

Yes, Blendigo is Blender exporter for Indigo which is "free to use" with a resolution limit 1M pixels per render. About Corona, it's v3 that is still freely available for commercial use. I admit these are shortcomings*, but are feature-full and not preventing any kind of free use. *For ingenious, in...

Re: Article about free renderers, featuring LuxCoreRender

+ A couple are still out there for free - one is Corona for 2.79 (development slowed down to a halt w/ 2.8+ mostly 'cuz the bridge is a volunteer work of a single developer and a new standalone version is being worked on) and other, if 1MBpix size limit doesn't bother you, for GPU/CPU spectral, pred...

Re: Displacement problem

Set Object to Shade Smooth. "Flat" breaks rendertime displacement - common to raytracers.

Re: Underwater caustics

Basically, you get finer Scattering Scale control with Scattering (color) = Value 0.01
Scale is then set to 50 & with a few other changes to amplify, exaggerate the volume caustics alike...

Re: question about anisotropy

I agree, anisotropic rotation has been left out or aside for too long. Too tedious, time consuming to do it the old way.
And images - comparisons of results & references would do great along your description ;)

Re: Camera non uniform bokeh support

I added the support for custom bokeh to GPU code. Thank you. About bokeh chromatic aberration: current internal camera interface only returns a ray (not a color) so it is not possible to have chromatic aberration inside the boundary of the current interface. Indeed, the interface can be extend, but...

Re: Camera non uniform bokeh support

Will there be RGB tex support or BW/grayscale only? It is a weight so it is gray scale only. Note: RGB support also allows creation of chromatic aberration for that extra realistic touch. And becomes especially valuable when you know about Out-of-focus point spread functions (paper) ;) The paper se...

Re: Camera non uniform bokeh support

P.S. chafouin, after having seen your link to http://richardrosenman.com/shop/dof-pro, I have changed my mind and I will add the support for bokeh with custom images ... this stuff is too cool. HAHA, how crazy is this thing  I added the support for bokeh custom distribution... Note: I have wri...

Re: Angular roughness/Angular glossiness

Yes, w/o doubt, it visually better represents any surface, since it's physically correct. Couple of papers on the matter: Geometry into Shading (Pixar Animation Studios) Sometimes, when 3D CG objects are viewed from a distance, a great deal of geometry can end up inside asingle pixel. When this happ...
