Re: BlendLuxCore Development

For the record, LuxCore is fully capable to use OpenCL and CUDA devices at the same time. What I'm missing a bit is some kind of unique device ID, that would allow me to detect which devices have both OpenCL and CUDA capabilities and which don't. Currently all I can do is compare names, which are n...

Re: The flickerfree animation challenge

I used Neat Video, a plugin to mainly reduce noise, but also to reduce flickering in lamps, for example. https://streamable.com/rgfkp1 It takes about 20sec. to get it set up. Boom. I wonder if the result would improve if you would de-flicker a caustics-only rendering (cpu render, 100% light paths)....

Re: BlendLuxCore Development

How does it work when you have both AMD and NVIdia GPU i guest you select Opencl if you want both GPU to work and CUDA if you wann't use AMD for rendering. Good point, I have not taken this possibility into account. Currently you have to select OpenCL in this case, which will then be used for all d...

Re: BlendLuxCore Development

The plan is to have only one build that runs everywhere in the future.

Re: BlendLuxCore Development

On CUDA builds, you can now choose between OpenCL and CUDA in the addon preferences.
Devices will no longer list GPUs twice.

Re: MaxToLux - 3ds Max Integration for LuxCore

Thanks for the tip, yeah it worked after i shortened the path. thanks . i am testing the scene all-settings now . Thank you for your replay. Honestly, I don't know whats the issue with the long-path but it's not about 3dsmac and it will happen with luxCore itself. I'm still investigating the issue....

Re: Simple shaders from python script

You should use gamma = 1 for the roughness map.

Re: Simple shaders from python script

Here's an example: import bpy mat = bpy.data.materials.new(name="Material") tree_name = "Nodes_" + mat.name node_tree = bpy.data.node_groups.new(name=tree_name, type="luxcore_material_nodes") mat.luxcore.node_tree = node_tree # User counting does not work reliably with Python PointerProperty. # Some...

Re: Relative Refraction vs. Absolute Retraction Index

In LuxCore you do not have to do this math by hand. Usually you just specify the IOR of each interior volume, model the meshes so they overlap each other, and use volume priorities to control which volume overrides the other in the overlapping area. When going from one volume to another, LuxCore aut...
