Re: Will Luxcore stay opensource?

Will Luxcore stay free forever?. It was a while I don't see this question: it wasn't a rare question for LuxRender many years ago, I think the main reason, at the time, was Indigo moving from free to use to commercial (I have vague memory of Indigo being available for free before the v1.0 :?: ). An...

Short version: you need to use a v2.3 automatic build and to enable caustic cache too.

When official v2.3 will be out?
I hope before the end of the year but don't hold your breath :!:

However automatic build is quite stable so you could give it a spin.

Here is the (yafaray) version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ7EtyhGeWo There is a trick you can use: - use PATHCPU; - enabled light tracing and set the partition between light and eye tracing to d...

Re: LuxCoreRender Caustics + Cycles

How can i also get a good sharp caustics in reflections? I have problems to do so.Lux-Custics.jpg They are called SDS paths (i.e. Specular-Diffuse-Specular paths) and are very hard to impossible to render even for normal BiDir. They require this feature: https://forums.luxcorerender.org/viewtopic.p...

Re: LuxCore questions

Have Lux developers tried to collaborate with other renderengine coders, for example Appleseed team? In distance past, there was a tentative to collaborate with Yafaray but it didn't work out. The problem is: it is particularly hard to find something to share with another and different render engin...

Re: LuxCore questions

For me the biggest reason why i haven't yet changed to Lux is uncertainty about its future. I would say that my biggest fear is that if i start to learn a new render engine and suddenly development stops, because of lack of developers. Well, everything is possible but LuxRender/LuxCoreRender is one...

Look like the feature is broken :

2.8 blend

broken_bckfront_opacity.blend
Your scene is working fine here, the sphere light hidden inside the cube illuminates the floor plane:

What is not working for you ?
