Re: Noob questions about luxcore

What i think would work is if theres a way to render in a layer of one scene with red scattered light only. and the other scene lighting up the elements. or is there any other work around like excluding lights on specific elements? You can assign lights to light groups and then adjust their brightn...

Re: Terminator issue?

Isn't there a blender tool named "edge split" to solve this kind of problems  Yep, that's another very good way to do it  I wonder if that is one of the reasons the blue line colors are there for the straight edges - it certainly can let you see where issues could be in a complicated sce...

feels extra stupid. thank you :D
Oh don't worry I had a hard time finding it the first time too  But once you know how Blender's compositor works, it makes complete sense.

Re: Noob questions about luxcore

Thank you! BYOB.... now lost again because in the volume panel of that tutorial he can add 2 volumes. LuxCore now only uses the "interior" volume that you see in old videos like that. For "exterior" volume, if you need to customise it, check the Volume panel under the World tab. Rather than set the...

Also Denoiser doesnt do anything after rendering has completed. is there anything else i need to tick? yes i did enable denoise. but... :geek:
After the render is finished, select the DENOISED Render Pass from the drop-down next to View Layer (it will say Combined for the original rendering)

Re: Terminator issue?

My description was probably hard to understand. Here is an image that might help a bit. There are 3 cubes. I applied "Shade smooth" to each of them. Notice the left cube has quite a big shading error. You can see this is an issue even just in Blender's solid renderer; nothing to do with Lux. The cen...

Re: Terminator issue?

PS: normals are good and pointing out like they should. It looks to me like the problem could be the geometry/normals. You have one huge face running across the object from left->right, then a 90-degree angle to the side face (and I assume, another face on the back?). If you smooth this (using "Sha...

Re: Spheres scene challenge

Well, here is the progress after 9 hours of rendering. It's up to just over 9,400 samples per pixel. I'll let it keep going all day while I'm at work as it's not quite noise-free yet (inside the glass spheres especially), although you have to look much closer to notice now... :D Note that they have ...
