Re: sacred Nikola tesla 3-6-9 caustics possible in luxcore render?
Am redoing a render that captures the SDS reflections, I realise this was missing in my one. Using the caustic cache for the SDS reflections, will take about 5 hours to render. Edit: Here is the updated animation rendered at a higher resolution using the caustic cache and light tracing. https://yout...

Re: sacred Nikola tesla 3-6-9 caustics possible in luxcore render?
Here's a short animation I rendered on my laptop, so I believe so with the right scene setup.

Re: AMD 5950x or Intel 12900k
Just had a look at AnandTech bench, and I would recommend the 12900k if you get it with a DDR5 platform. https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/2673?vs=2895 The PovRay and Cinebench (rendering) results point to both a single and multi thread advantage to the 12900k, and are pretty much translatable...

Re: Playing with liquids+bottles
The glass looks great IMO, pity about the fluids as it's an otherwise great shot!

Re: Frosty glass?
Disconnect your bump map and see if the frosting is still there, most likely the cause. Consider mixing a standard and rough glass instead of using the bump map for height.
Also not 100% if it defaults, but you don't have a UV-Map selected either in your 2d mapping node.

Re: Volumetrics issues
May I ask a question - is there any tutorial/how-to info about volumes workflow? Because I can't understand - why LuxCore defines not just interior volume (which is understandable and work almost like in other render systems) but exterior volume ? Why, for example, glass of vine should describe atm...

Re: Crazy Crystal Glass Affect, is it possible?
But still, even after you model it in detail, it will be quite a tricky task to mimic material, since there's no simple way of reproducing dichroic glass. First, glass material doesn't have thin film feature and after is getting correct shadow colors which also depend on thin film (complementary to...

Re: Denoise trouble
Did you make the LuxCore materials for your scene, or use the Cycles conversion?
It would be good to see the raw output of the LuxCore render. Also the uploaded untitled.blend does not match your scene, was that intentional?

Psors cube caustics animation
Hey all, for fun I decided to render a sunrise-sunset animation with caustics, light tracing, dispersion and caustic cache, always been fascinated by caustics. 0166.png Approx. 7m/frame on a RTX3070, worked out well except for some photons inside the reflection. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THnkw...

Re: Black spots in render
Yup, it is 8 years old :!: 🤔So how do I update it? Or do I have to buy the latest version? LuxCoreRender (the new version of LuxRender) is free/open source software. Try download the latest version from this website, IIRC LuxCore has the ability to read old LuxRender .lxs scene files. See if you ca...
