Re: PhotonGI cache

I think the need for this depends on how much trial and error is involved to find the right settings for the PhotonGI cache. If you need a lot of trial and error, starting 10 renders or so until you found good setttings for photon count, radius etc., then it would be very good to have this pre-visu...

I was using a DLSC warmup samples value of 128-256 in my tests, can you try ?
I did it but with no a real success. Splothes again.

Re: Direct Light cache: how to avoid splotches?

I've tried the last beta4 but it seems it's not solving the problem.

Re: Usability and Luxcore workflow streamlining ideas

It is HUGE (in Lux context): just try to render a glass sphere on a plane (better if with BiDir), the sun will cast a caustic while distant light doesn't. Distant light emits all parallel photons along the defined direction, it can not be intersected so there are no fireflies with path tracing, it ...

Re: Usability and Luxcore workflow streamlining ideas

Simple way will be to put distant generic sun as default. What do you think ? I know I could appear as a stupid but I can't really understand the difference from a distant light and a sun light. My background is 3dsmax and Vray. Before Vray added VraySun light type, you have to use a directional li...
