Re: A look from Viewpoint(x to y, x to n) at Hypothesis(x to y) - Amphorisms of 2nd Thoughts

tl;dr Basically, as is with a chicken or the egg problem, i too believe - both are correct: Quantum weirdness in 'chicken or egg' paradox (@ Science Daily) Indefinite causal order in a quantum switch @ Cornell University / ( paper.pdf ) A free choice is given to complex intelligent being... :P ;)

Re: CGI tech news box

"Bump Terminator" preview.jpg We present a technique to hide the abrupt shadow terminator line when strong bump or normalmaps are used to emulate micro-geometry. Our approach, based on microfacet shadowingfunctions, is simple and inexpensive. Instead of rendering detailed and expensive he...

Re: PhotonGI cache

Some more findings about Caustic cache... :? 1. With Volumes there's huge regression, especially in cases like "water in a glass". "Samples/Sec drop from 6.5M to 84K." #bugs @ LuxCoreRender discord 2. Using low Lookup Radius value in combination with low Radius Scale "dark edges" occur. At first beh...

Re: PhotonGI cache

Last two builds from Azure failed! I hope the automatic pipeline can be fixed! I had a look and noticed that this happens quite often at times. The build actually succeeds, but the following deployment of one of the packed binaries to GitHub fails because of this error: 2019-06-15T15:09:03.8924021Z...

Re: PhotonGI cache

Latest build, OCL works. 8-) Caustic's cache reveals the edges. Issue arises from Normal Angle size (OCL & CPU). The lower the angle size, the greater the anomaly. e.g. Normal Angle: 90° GlassOfAle_N-angle-90.jpg Normal Angle: 10°(default) GlassOfAle_N-angle-10.jpg Normal Angle: 0° GlassOfAle_N-angl...

In that scene your world volume is set to "prism volume", which seems to be a leftover because no object has it linked. Its IOR is slightly different to that of your glass prism, which is why you still get dispersion of colors.
Indeed, that's it!!!

Re: weird volumetric lighting glitch

In my example, i disabled volumes altogether If I disable all volumes, everything is really black. Laser beams without volumetrics shouldn't be possible with the current features. @kintuX, are you sure? One object in the scene with a material with a homo- or heterogeneous volume with scattering>0.0...

Re: weird volumetric lighting glitch

Took time to go into to details. Yes, scene is an abomination for pro-creativity :D After couple of hours analyzing & diagnosing all posible variations i found it !!! GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH VOLUMES !!! . It's the freakin' laser beam! Sometimes it shows as visible, but sometimes not. Depending on an...
