Are you try to periodically save the film or something similar ? You seem to try to serialize a Film but it can happen only if you have enabled some kind of periodic saving. It is very strange.

Try to check the %tmp% directory for a crash log. It has the name "<name-of-blendfile>.crash.txt" and usually contains a stacktrace that might help us.
