Not sure if you found a way, but you can convert geonode objects to mesh objects then proceed from there.
Just hit Ctrl + A > Visual Geometry to Mesh.

I had to try 3.0 + daily because 2.6 on 2.93.4 gave a "missing phylux" error. And when I tried to go back and install 2.5 on 2.92 I got the same error. (although it was working) But now using 3.0 + daily (01/30/2022) It has installed, but is missing Luxrender Node material screen option. H...

I'm sorry if I spread any misinformation, I did try yesterday and couldn't get it to work (same kind of error i would get in Mac before the 2.6.1 upgrade) retested again today and it does work with latest release on Fedora35.
