Re: Strange behavior of lamps and glass

This is physically correct behaviour. Perfectly clean glass only reflects and transmits light in non-random directions (ingoing angle = outgoing angle). Since there is no randomness, the image will appear black unless you move the camera into the way of the reflected or transmitted rays. In reality,...

Re: Strange behavior of lamps and glass

To be honest I don't really understand what you mean.
Can you show two images: what is happening and what you would expect to happen? Can be a crude paint drawing :)

Re: Strange behavior of lamps and glass

Spot and point are non-intersectible light sources. Their caustics cannot be rendered with a unidirectional pathtracer, you need Bidir for this.
Or do you mean something else? Please provide a scene showing the problem in that case.

Re: Maxime residence

Pay attention to that triangles that go from a corner to the holes on the ceiling. As in the Octane version this is not visible it seems that model is fine...so probably some Luxcore mesh management or something related to that "damned" epsilon setting... There's some help about this in the wiki: h...

Call for Example Scenes

We are always looking for example scenes to showcase the features of LuxCoreRender. An example scene can be complex or simple, it can show off a wide range of features or just a single one - or it can just produce a visually pleasing image. Some ideas: - Present a shader feature, for example: volume...

Re: Blender plugin

You will have to set up the material (+ textures) yourself.
Or:
- someone writes a custom FBX importer that creates LuxCore materials (could extend the existing Blender addon, it's all Python AFAIK)
- someone writes a Cycles -> LuxCore material converter

Re: linked objects are gray

The versioning code for nodes is only run when a .blend file is opened, not when stuff is linked in. Those materials are using an old version of the imagemap node, which is not updated because of the above. You can fix the problem by opening the blend file from which the files are linked, saving it ...

Maya still uses Python 2.7.11.
Is pyluxcore buildable against Python 2?
If they have a C++ API that might be easier to use.

Re: Shader view vs rendered image

The "sphere size" is the diameter of the preview sphere, not the radius.
The default cube is 2m in diameter, not 1m.
So set the sphere size to 2 and it should work.
