Re: BlendLuxCore Development

This is strange. I did not expect to much difficulties there, actually there should not be any unknown parameter. I hope you find a solution there. I know it sounds stupid, but this is really much harder than it seems. I have the feeling that our code is a bit overcomplicated here, but on the other...

Re: moving from povray to luxcore

I guess you want to use LuxCore through the Python or C++ API? Maybe this thread helps as a start: https://forums.luxcorerender.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=371 (I have linked a Python demo script there) 1. I would like to be able to import CAD models into my scene. LuxCore can load PLY meshes, or you ca...

Re: Interior San Pedro Project

BTW i decide to make the main view a bit contrasted. I think you could put the focus much more on the lamp in the middle. The bright ceiling light, window on the right and the sofa in the lower right all steal away the focus. Maybe consider it as a separate lighting setup. I made a quick, shitty ov...

Re: BlendLuxCore Development

BiDir in view port (I don't now how to change the phyton script to enable BiDir), very useful in my in opinion I will consider it, but it is really only useful in corner cases. if view port is set to camera zooming may lead to memory issues. You know, the mouse wheel zooms in very fast. You mean th...

Re: Weird behaviour of bump

Mayebe I should use the bump map just to simulate i.e. dust and surface scratches. It depends on the size of your scene. If you want to render the earth in space, you can use bump to simulate whole mountain ranges. But if you zoom in further, bump won't be enough at some point, you will need true d...

Re: Weird behaviour of bump

If you plug any texture apart from the normal map into the bump slot, the grayscale values are interpreted as elevation, where 1.0 (white) is 1 meter and 0.0 (black) is 0 meter (or something like that, maybe the 0 m is gray, not sure about that). If you're not sure, how should I be?:) Now, normalma...

Thanks for testing with the bouncing trees.
Didn't expect you to make a tutorial out of it :)
