Re: Nvidia Turing

https://hothardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-rtx-performance-and-overclocking?page=3 Strange, doing the math, price/performance ratio of the Vega 64 and RTX 2080Ti is about the same (something like 50% more expansive and 50% faster). However LuxMark v3.1 uses generic GPU computing code and not th...

Re: Nvidia Turing

Can someone well educated tell me if I'm wrong and it's the best time for upgrade? You could just upgrade everything but the GPU and wait to see what happens. It is probably what I'm going to do. Vulkan has a NVIDIA extension to expose the new ray tracing "hardware" (if there is any real hardware.....

Re: cannot activate lux render

Are you using the OprnCL version ? Is your OpenCL platform working fine ? Try to run LuxMark to check if your OpenCL is working fine.

P.S. and are you running Blender 2.79b from Blender Fundation binaries ?

Re: cannot activate lux render

Are you installing v2.0 or v2.1alpha3 ? In case of alpha3, have you installed Intel C++ redistributable (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=538) ?

Re: Noise aware sampling

It is enabled by default (even if if it is quite different from the one you linked, in old Lux) if you are using SOBOL (or RANDOM) sampler.

Re: Vertex Colors

Is the first set always used for shading the triangles ? What do you mean? In Cycles, vertex color layers are accessed by name with a special node. They are not used for shading by default. I was thinking to old SLG where, if the vertices had colors defined, they were interpolated across the triang...

Re: Mac OS

Note: last Blender related commits require Boost NumPy component (i.e. boost_numpy) to be linked to pyluxcore.pyd. It is part of standard Boost so it should be already there and discovered by cmake.
