Re: Mac install from source: Boost files not found

Downloaded latest source code. Trying to install from source on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. In the downloaded folder I run "cmake ." then "c" for configure. I get the following error: CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:79 (MESSAGE): --> Could not locate required Boost files - Please check /Users/alaganow...

Re: LuxCoreRender v2.1alpha3 released

I'm really excited about the further steps and development of LuxCore 2.0+, so big thanks and greetings fly out to the dev-Team *thumb up* I tried my very best to install any of the 2.1alpha-releases, so also BlendLuxCore-v2.1alpha3-win64.zip BlendLuxCore-v2.1alpha3-win64-opencl.zip but still could...

how this could impact GPU rendering ?
If it is exposed trough some usable API (anyway, at the moment is just marketing vaporware, they haven't disclosed any detail about what is really in there).

Sadly luxcorenetconsole seems to only accept the bcf files, so no cfg files with simple editing.
You can use luxcoreui to convert any scene in .bcf format

Re: "Developing" .flm files/opening netrenders

I'm playing with rendering of prisms for nice rendering of dispersion and just rendered on multiple nodes in my home network today to get a decent resolution testfile. The scene was build in blender and I exported as a binary file. Lux ignored the setting of multilayer exr as the output format and ...

Re: Luxcore and memory

I forgot to ask, what is about light groups? Does memory usage grow with their number? Yes, each light group's contribution needs a separate buffer. I think the memory usage of a light group is width * height * 3 * sizeof(float) Bytes. It is "4 *" (i.e. the weight) for eye path buffer and "3 *" for...

Re: Luxcore and memory

cpu+PATH: 256x256: 5.8 GB denoiser: 5.9 GB denoiser disabled: 4.5 GB 2048x2048: 8 GB denoiser: 10.3 GB denoiser disabled: 5.5 GB As you see, the denoiser requires to store a lot of data for each pixel (and, no, it is not avoidable, only mitigabile with the use of same already existing parameter). H...

Re: Luxcoreui render resolution changing

Has anyone noticed this when you go to change film render resolution in luxcore ui, then sometimes it wont change and will be stuck there, memory and CPU use gets very low. More often it will happen when environment is homogeneous volume with multiscattering off, almost never with heterogeneous vol...

I assumed disabled denoiser won't affect rendering itself.
Collecting and saving the statistics for denoising requires an HUGE amount of data per pixel. If you disable the denoiser, the memory usage will go down a lot.
