Re: Lux measurement using Irradiance feature

Pro, you may be attacking a problem that is too complex to solve for someone without internal knowledge of how LuxCore and BlendLuxCore work. I propose you to attack the problem from a different angle: you could do (small) rendering using environment camera to render the radiance received by a probe...

Re: Mac OS

If we're going to make Azure have a release process it might not be worth the time though We are currently using Azure to build experimental releases of the stand alone version for Windows/Linux. It is working well but we are still hand building official releases like alpha/beta/final. You could ju...

Re: Fire Caustics

Wow, thanks! Mesmerizing. It even loops nearly perfectly, maybe one frame at the beginning or end is doubled (or it's my player that causes a slight pause). It works fine on twitter: https://twitter.com/Dade916/status/1087478522761879552 It is hyp...no....ti....... https://thumbs.gfycat.com/Courage...

Re: Struggling with LuxCoreGUI

You can define any number of configuration related properties on the command line. For instance, you can start LuxCoreUI in "image view" mode with the following command line: luxcoreui -D screen.tool.type IMAGE_VIEW scenes/cornell/cornell.cfg You can select the number of native threads from command ...

Re: Mac OS

I think I should clean up the release and post the 2.2alpha0 build elsewhere so people are getting a v2.1 release and not some alpha/beta release. Yup, it is a good idea. BTW, it isn't the Azure pipeline already compiling the latest version for MacOS ? Or does it builds the only the OpenCL-less ver...

Re: Lux measurement using Irradiance feature

I am continuing with the work - I recently looked into the code of existing camera types, and I would like to ask you the following questions: 1. How to construct text file with a generic list of rays to trace and set it as an input to this new type of camera? The code for parsing camera properties...

Re: PhotonGI cache

I think the need for this depends on how much trial and error is involved to find the right settings for the PhotonGI cache. If you need a lot of trial and error, starting 10 renders or so until you found good setttings for photon count, radius etc., then it would be very good to have this pre-visu...

3. Automatic sun color checkbox What do you mean ? The sun color is already computed automatically :?: I would be happy if you would tell me which of these options are possible to implement and which are not :D . They all look possible, some one is even easy to add, but main problem, as usual, is f...

Re: PhotonGI cache

Is it possible to show this while the cache is building, then switch to normal film mode when the render starts? It would have an (high) cost because I would have to trace (useless for photon mapping) eye rays to give the feedback. I can move the cache creation from the pre-processing stage to the ...
