Re: Problems for getting the caustics in a pool

You have a quite peculiar setup there: the light sources are under water. Tomorrow, I will check the scene you posted, is it the one shown in your renderings ?

Re: Would it be possible to get Alpha on Glass Materials?

Yes sure. Here it is. sphere_beauty.jpg sphere_beauty.png This doesn't make sense, you have a solid background in your rendering and the alpha channel of that rendering is, by definition, all white (with or without the 2 glass spheres, it doesn't matter). You are using something else, not the alpha...

Re: problems with BACKGROUND

The interesting thing is that original file do NOT have any NaN. You original image doesn't have NaNs but have negative values: negative.jpg It is still stuff a light source can not emit. Use exrtools (i.e. exrdisplay in this case) to check .exr files; it is the reference ILM OpenEXR implementation.

Re: Is there any material or config that can make an object not affected by lighting in the scene?

any other suggestions on how to achieve the goal would be appreciated. You can enable Alpha channel and use BACKGROUND_IMG plugin to replace the back ground (all pixels where rays hit nothing with any image you want) like in this example: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/LuxCore/blob/master/scenes/...

Is that possible to access that directly from C++?
It is all written in Python so no (i.e. you have to run an external command pyluxcoretools with command line options).

Re: Network render

Beware that network rendering is a very underdeveloped feature. Just want to implement network render, so I checked the network render with luxcore in the blender and I have a few questions. First is there any documentation for it? Few lines of text here: https://wiki.luxcorerender.org/LuxCoreRender...

Re: problems with BACKGROUND

The problem is triggered by the broken/corrupted HDR used for your infinite light source:

nan.jpg

As you see, it is full of NaN values. This cause a cascade of problems: building the importance sampling map will go horrible wrong, power base light strategy will not work, etc.

Scene texture maps resize policy

Introduction I have introduced the concept of scene texture maps resize policy. It allow to resize all the texture maps (i.e. the images used in all texture image map nodes) of scene according some policy. The policy is defined by using few properties in the rendering configuration. Policy: NONE Th...

Re: Does not seem to use my GPU

What are you using to check the GPU workload ? On Windows, you have to select GPU computing workload, not normal gfx related one.
