Re: Luxcore really needs an anisotropic rotation option
You can attach files directly to messages in this board, including .blend files.nostalphia wrote: Tue May 13, 2025 10:03 am p.s, I haven't found a way to upload .blend files yet, maybe I could get your email address?
The same with images, you don't need to use postimages.cc!

Anisotropic rotation,
Adaptive subdivision,
float curve,
trigonometric
Hello,
some quick feedback:
Anisottropic rotation: May need clarification, see the other thread you posted in.
Adaptive subdivision: Already on the list.
float curve: This is clear.
"triginometric": This needs ...

(Adding subD (level 3) to the circular texture brings terrible saw aliasings)
but it becomes difficult when cannot changing the uv for some reason
in the U/V workflow, the u-rough = v-rough of Apoint and Bpoint(two points at ±45°) , who should be opposite value :o .
Hello,
Could you ...

Re: Call for Ideas - New LuxCoreRender Features post-v2.10
The other thing that i am missing is caustics that would see trough transparent objects (same with reflections - so refraction and reflections doesn't support light tracing - in blender it works) - maybe intel's path guiding technique would be one solution because blender is using that one and it ...

Thanks.
Now that I run the scene, I relaize I could have spotted the issue from the title...
There was an Issue with ViewLayers that got fixed with v2.10.0-rc.1
I tested your example scene and it seems to work fine here.
I suggest you test the new rc-version as well:

Hi,
congratulations on your PhD! And thanks for letting us know of the results. The animations look very nice.
I've downloaded your thesis, I'll make sure to check out some more details ;)
By the way, great timing. LuxCoreRender is currently being updated to continue with new development.

Hello,
Can you provide a (simple) test scene in the form of a .blend-file that produces a crash for you?
This is needed to determine if it is hardware specific, or due to some particular settings.
It will also help to understand what exactly you are trying to achieve as a resulting image.

Re: Call for Ideas - New LuxCoreRender Features post-v2.10
I wonder whether it might be possible to turn luxcore into something that can be used for engineering purposes.
Generally speaking, I also see engineering applications, which I am planning to work towards, however I would not use the phrase "turn luxcore into" because I don't see the need to ...

Re: Call for Ideas - New LuxCoreRender Features post-v2.10
The inability to move objects when pre-rendering is in progress makes it inconvenient to customize the scene.
I want to ask for clarification, what exactly do you mean by "pre-rendering"? The phase when it says "starting viewport render"? Maybe also the CUDA/OCL kernel compilation step?
I also ...
