To develop the add-on you should know mostly Python although there is some C++ code if I'm not mistaken.

Now i understand you. On the youtube channel there are tutorial for both old luxrender 1.7 and new Core engine Luxcorerenderer. So the 2 last tutorial and upcomming one are only dedicated to Luxcore 2.1 alpha.x wich didn't have same feature as old luxrender 1.7. luxcore support shading only by node...
