Re: PhotonGI cache

ofc i used same outputs for light. same diffuse or glossy color. same untonemapped method. that's why i compared the raw exr images. How do you know Lux and Corona use the same glossy model ? Lux uses a Schlick's approximation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlick%27s_approximation) while Corona c...

Re: PhotonGI cache

Sincerely, pretending to have the same outputs from 2 totally different rendering engines because you are inserting the "same" inputs is a veeeeery long shot. I mean, are the models for light sources, materials, textures, camera, film response, etc. the same ? Are all the input values exp...

lacilaci wrote: Sat Mar 02, 2019 5:43 pm I can't look at it right now, but tomorrow or after weekend. I suspect default power of luxcore flatcolor is too weak (it definitely is compared to sky for example)
yeah, that's why i increased it to get identical power.

Re: PhotonGI cache

so decided to make a real comparison between corona and luxcore GI. some little details are different but main materials are almost equal. i used only environment flat color in both engines. however to make the window light pixel color identical i needed to set the gain of luxcore environment to 4....

Re: PhotonGI cache

I have renamed the "Usage Threshold Scale" to "Brute Force Radius Scale" and added some tooltips: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/BlendLuxCore/commit/967a6c82139a10dd512a80f5c04a3febb26be9de Dade, maybe you can take a look at this commit and check if my explanations in the desc...

Re: PhotonGI cache

I might be missinterpreting stuff here, but to me it looks like cache looks at first hit ok, then it somehow got overwriten by weaker entries but then at some places bounces with proper power, might also be source of some leaks.... no? cache_entries.jpg not sure about this but fully biased solution...
