Re: NVIDIA DLSS in 3D rendering

This will only be possible if you use Materials and shapes that have been pre-trained.
Else the result is likely to be an artwork rather then photorealistic.

Re: NVIDIA DLSS in 3D rendering

If we spin this DLSS thing forward, we can render in 640x400 and the Neural Networks "expand it" to 8000x6000 Pixels. However, you have to understand, that these neural networks generate surfaces based on their "Learning". Means they will just complete the graphic using things they have seen before....

Looks like that NVIDIA stay on Top about Rendering speed but for solely GAMING, AMD takes the Lead.
And for us this is a good Message.

Studio-Scene now included with Luxrender

Looking through the Luxcore-Addon Folder, I found in: AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.90\scripts\addons\BlendLuxCore-master\scripts\LOL Two Blender files: Studio.blend and Material_Thumbnails.blend both maybe as good start for Beginners. They do render fine. With CPU. With GPU rendering...

Re: GPU render experience

The responsiveness has to do with the general program structure. I do not think it has to do with "How an engine internally works". In windows we would just add some "DoEvents()" after each internal Action. Of course this may need a bit of time. But I doubt it will be such a big issue. As the Respon...

Re: GPU render experience

Looking at how Responsive AMD Pro Render in any resolution is, i would just say "it is possible". Even if the rendering would take 5% longer. Luxrender takes very long, here longer then any other render-engine. However the results are like that - especially caustics and Interior Renderings with Luxr...

Re: GPU render experience

I have had several discussions on the responsiveness of the Luxcore UI - especially in higher output resolutions.
I am not sure there is any hope. I guess most devs do never render higher then 1920x1080 :-)

Re: spectral rendering

Take a look here. May be in the same way?
Its advisable to coordinate all such things with the devs.

Re: spectral rendering

Can you explain the picture?
From my point of view often when i use dispersion, many of the colours are missing and i get just R,G and B.

Re: Custom Normals do not work in render

Did you use the daily built?
Did you read what it says?
See the sentence starting with "Custom Normals will not work ...."
