Re: White balance: how should work in luxcore?

In my opinion this feature is broken or I can't understand how to use it. Anyone is using it? No, I balance lights not camera... But I tried it and it is bad. It should inverse the value you input to make given value white not set everything into the value. So in theory you need to invert the value...

Old Storage - UE4 (4k 60fps) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROJ925r_F5k The Workshop - UE4 (4k 60fps) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_s__25dH0s those videos are more aobut photogrammetry than unreal. Model would look the same anywhere you'd put it, even eevee for example cause lighting is baked ...

Re: Luxcore Vs Octane Preparation test

are those same time renderings? Not the same time. not also same quality. as you can see octane is clamping light very hard. at the same time you get this : Octane 11sc Deph 1 octane D1__T11.jpg Luxcore 11sc Deph 1 Luxcore D1__T11.jpg Interesting. Luxcore always introduces noise even in directly ex...

Re: Luxcore Vs Octane Preparation test

With further test i've the feeling that by using total path deph settings it is possible to bypass the n+1 behaviour. Octane deph 1 octane 1.jpg Luxcore deph 1 luxcore 1.jpg Luxcore deph 2 luxcore 2.jpg Octane deph 2 octane 2.jpg As you can see Luxcore Deph 2 is different from deph 1. And only Octa...

Now Direct light with more samples per pixel (500) : Octane Max deph 1 + 500 samples Octane__direct__sample 500.jpg Luxcore Max deph 1 + 500 samples Luxcore__direct__sample 500.jpg Observation Even with more samples per pixel look how dark the octane render is. now wonder if we can clamp direct lig...

Re: Orange juice tutorial

Volme setup makes sense for me. But altering shadow color, naaah.. not too sure about that one. there is no way around this. Most engines assume transparent shadows for glass/transimtant materials otherwise you would have to calculate full caustics. For example cycles does automatically compute sha...

Re: Spectral rendering

One way of comparative study is you give both samples to X number of people asking them which one they favor more, then do the stats. The other is unbiased, scientific way of using specialized image analysis tools and color science to describe the methods, techniques, do the work, get results with ...

Re: Spectral rendering

Here's latest Octane for Blender: Download Octane 2019 for Blender 2.81 RC (free tier) - Updated 2019-11-12 Yes but how do you compare octane vs spectral rendering octane? Is there a switch to turn of spectral rendering in octane? This new build of cycles allows for pretty much direct head to head ...
