add some details
Something seems off.
You mean this part? :D
Nope... I can't really see what's up there :) I mean spokes. Usually, holes in the rim go on even intervals. Also the seat looks weird to me.

Re: weird volumetric lighting glitch

Camera volume always fail. At least in luxcore 2.1 and earlier. Do you mean the auto-detection? A bug in that code was fixed a while ago, probably after v2.1. I mean any camera volume setting beside "---" will not work. You've fixed something before 2.1 and after that camera volume still should be ...

A general comment about the scene: your volume setup is incorrect, this makes camera volume auto-detection fail.

You don't need textures to reproduce
Well, then remove them before uploading the scene. All I see is purple rectangle.

Re: bump mapping break-ups

From my observation, bump is broken in luxcore. Height map is just unusable because of unpredictable behavior. Normal map is weird at curved surfaces. Sometimes it looks like normals are inverted. In cycles there's no such problem. When testing it's better to avoid random patterns, because it's hard...

denoiser won't do anything with those areas unless they are very low in noise.
I've got similar behaviour in this scene download/file.php?id=4471.
It's Glossy Translucent mixed with Null, with homogeneous multiscattering volume.
