Re: Reducing roughness by value

1e-8 is lowest that has worked for me.

Are there any other FP32 limitations for volume absorption in small scale rendering, like jewelry?

Like say a gemstone 2mm in size, sometimes you change transmission 2.5 times lower, but it goes from full transparent to pure black?

Re: Reducing roughness by value

Yes, i use all the time 0.00000001 for glass with BiDirVM + Sun or Sun on HDRmap.
The BiDirVM renders sun black with clear glass.

Re: LuxCore standalone questions

I have compiled LuxCoreUI with new oidn 1.2.1, embree 3.10.0, glfw 3.3.2 for Linux.
It refreshes film with 4 min interval in IMAGE_VIEW mode.

Re: Blend Luxcore not so responsive during rendering

So will have to look for these "Refresh cycles" where they are. What exactly is the reason that i must set it to low resolution first? I really can't find how to set the timer before render start. The lag doesn't let you to change the value, so better to start with small resolution. After...

Re: Blend Luxcore not so responsive during rendering

It could be the refresh interval, at least for me, it's the only thing that makes blender unresponsive.
  • You can start render at small resolution
  • hit N
  • go to LuxCore panel
  • change 10 to 3600
  • stop render
  • set resolution back to high
  • start render

Re: BlendLuxCore Development

I have updated kUbuntu 19.10 and nvidia driver for GTX 970 and pyenv python version to 3.7.7
Oidn still crashes blender, but in standalone luxcoreui it works.

I went back to 2.82a, this version works.
