Re: Animated OpenVDB Volumes

I think I am beginning to understand how this works. So I dived into the SDK instead, and I am beginning to get results within my application (I still can't get blender to animate imported vdb's though). But I am also having problems using vdb files generated in other apps. Getting closer though. ht...

Re: Adopting LuxCore

I made a music video, completely rendered in Luxcore, and off course produced in Deep FX Studio, with the help of a few other programs.

Re: Animated OpenVDB Volumes

Okay thank you for looking into this. I wasn't sure about the scaling. I was implementing a OpenGl raycasting shader and run into a similar issue since the vdb has to be a 3d texture, so went another direction. I also discovered some older videos and noticed there was an offset bounding box option i...

Re: Animated OpenVDB Volumes

Okay, thanks. I currently use v2.4 for continuity reasons, since the feature set ticks all my use cases. If this problem has been fixed for the latest release then I may upgrade to a newer release in the future.

Animated OpenVDB Volumes

I am experimenting with volumes in Luxcore, in Blender, and I have run into an odd problem. Cycles & Renderman seem to handle this automatically. Since OpenVDB is a sparse format the grid size changes for each frame. Since Luxcore treats the grid as a texture, the simulation transforms on every fram...

For some strange reason I am having trouble visiting the forums without a VPN, is anyone else having this issue?
No. you always can check this kind of issues with https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

Re: Red Wine

I get the feeling that the normals on the inside of the cup are reversed. causing a strange refraction. i think that it feels more like a layer of air. that the liquid is smaller than the glass giving some strange results I think Sharlybg covered that in one of his videos, I believe the liquid mesh...

Re: Red Wine

Nope, normal's are perfectly fine double checked. Its not perfect, but I like it the way it is. It demonstrates what it is selling well. I'm sure a better artist can get better results, but that is not the point of the piece, or a limitation of the tools.

Re: Red Wine

It looks excellent to me, it fits the mood of the scene. The refractive index values are real world. I personally like it. The animation is excellent (maybe embedded mp4 tags should be enabled for small files? Any way posting that on Youtube later, there is a short clip here also https://www.artstatio...
