FarbigeWelt wrote: Tue Feb 05, 2019 5:17 pm Sorry, but I had troubles with different links for cycles’ material libraries I found when looking for a useful input of ideas how to define one.

A nice isolution for newbies could be something like
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=you ... OGQxTNbp4Q

Or just a simple description of basic nodes and rendered examples like
https://www.blenderguru.com/articles/cy ... cyclopedia

The first one would need a project of its own or good motivation and negotiation skills asking them for a solution covering LuxCoreRender plugin.

The second one can be easy realized on beginners level and some support of experienced users.

Would you like to realize a similar approach like the overview approach if someone, maybe me, supports you with the first steps? And resulting materials and pictures are free to be used?

Yes, i would take anything and everything that will make me understand luxcore. If u can do this, i would be grateful. I can't rely on only cycles at all time. And you could even post the tutorial on blenderartist.org that like giving luxcore more buzz among blender users

Great! Thank you much tayo6.

This is a very welcome commitment :!:

Ahead of the first steps I prefer to make some notes based on my experiences and user feedback to draft a promising approach for a steep learning curve paired with interactive fun. Basically I mean replacing Blender's startup scene with new and more user friendly scene for LuxCoreRender plugin.

This are a few settings like sun gain, predefined external volume, meaningful camera position and angle with a simple object in focus.
Just things most first users hindered from a smooth take off to a rocket universe of colourful brushes and paints of light.

After posting the start up scene, I will contact you about this Thursday for the beginning. There are few other tasks of mine I'd like to have done first.

First Instructions or Read the Friendly Manual

Acutally, there are already good and nice descriptions for materials and volumes available.

Enter
https://luxcorerender.org

Select page menu and choose
https://wiki.luxcorerender.org/LuxCoreRender_Wiki

If interested in Blender addon, click the link to its manual pages in the user.
https://wiki.luxcorerender.org/Category:BlendLuxCore

All chapters of this manual are useful. Read them before the very first use of BlendLucCore and later repeat reading with focus on explanations in case you did not get the results you expected.

Material descriptions and renders can be found on LuxCoreRender‘s manual pages.

I read them already, in fact I read from Yafarays doc and Appleseed render doc. It was a little bit hard trying to understand some of the words used, but I won't stop experimenting, i think that's all I've got to get better.
Thanks

Make a list and we can explain them. Maybe put them in the wiki for others.

The first Lux version was based on PBRT v1.0, LuxCore is the grandson of that project so, while it doesn't share anything anymore with the original code, it is still uses the same terminology and approach to problems.

PBRT book is available here for free: http://www.pbr-book.org/

It is a book for developers but you may found the introduction of each chapters quite interesting (in general, not refereeing only to LuxCore) and useful to understand LuxCore.

My apologies, I was busier than expected.

And had to notice that a zipped file, with a little more than just a .blend file as a possible default scene, is more helpful as entry point for first users.

And this is why I started defining materials with volumes and short descriptions. Then I will test appending and linking materials to new .blend files.

Actually all easy to do.
But this is often not very readable without understandable naming system.
