Pressing Ctrl-Z seems to delete all of my material nodes for all materials. This isn't normal, is it?
No. Can you
open an issue about it , describe in more detail what you did, if it is reproducible, and post an example scene that shows the problem?
The issue isn't scene or context specific. If at anytime I press Ctrl-Z to undo a transform, value edit, or anything else my material nodes get wiped. I have tested the beta2 and 3 on 2.79a Windows 10 (64-bit)
Issue opened
EDIT: Have tested in 2.79b and the problem still occurs

This remembers a bit the save/load bug in Blender 2.79 (fixed in Blender 2.79a).

No such (ctrl+Z) bug here (win7, blender 2.79b-pigeon)
Edit:
Has anyone noticed a difference between CPU & OCL in HDRI light intensity (using Light groups):
Am investigating further...
EDIT - NOT A BUG!
After further investigation (Made a fresh scene, reproduced same settings.) it turns out OCL & CPU return equal results:

Could you make a test with your scene with the pylux updated?
It seems, in my scene that it's not solved and I'm not using IES file.
