Hi guys ! just open this thread to share my experience with broken GPU FIX. recently (6 month ago) i'd loose my 2 GPUs (R9 390 Nitro from Sapphir). This was a seriously hard time as i've to go back to very slow rendering and feedback again .
I decide to keep them arround as i hope for a solution.
After some heavy research on the internet and lot of video i decide to give a try to GPU + OVEN Fix. How it work : Some time due to heavy task and bad air flow hardware like GPU can suffer a lot and got their welds broken at a microscopic level. So the fix is simply to try correct this problem with a simple hack fight fire by fire .
generally the principle is to try bring back the GPU by melting the welds together again. My current result.
1 .Disassemble the GPU (remove all plastic and thermal past. )
2. On your Oven at 170°Celcius for 5mn
3. Put your GPU board on a coffee porcelain plate
4. Wait 7mn and shutdown the oven ( small Toaster oven also work. No micro wave)
5. Let the Gpu board in the oven for 20mn to avoid brutal temperature cooling
6. Open the oven for 10mn
7. Take the GPU out now and let it cool down slowly
8. when it's done rebuild the device and give it a Try
YESSSSSS !!!! IT WORK !!!
But for how long ? Will update as time goes on. My feeling is that for next GPU i take BLOWER or nothing. Will do the same for the second GPU Soon.

Re: GPU Resurrection
That's interesting and you have been lucky to get it back to work after such a heat treatment. The upper limit of the actual silicon itself is typically 150°C.
Unless you use military grade components (and even in that case your heat treatment went beyond the maximum operating temperature) the risk is that you cook you ICs. Possibily overheating them for a relatively small amount of time didn't kill them but that's not the way to go. So, let's see for how long they will work.

AAAH AAHH Still working and rendering on luxcore like a beast but again for how long ? :
This evening i will receive a better Case.:
