It could be the refresh interval, at least for me, it's the only thing that makes blender unresponsive.
  • You can start render at small resolution
  • hit N
  • go to LuxCore panel
  • change 10 to 3600
  • stop render
  • set resolution back to high
  • start render

@Dade, Blender 2.83 but not the newest.
Also Luxcore not the newest daily build but from the last weeks.
I have 2xGTX 1080 for rendering and 24 Core CPU with 128 GB Memory.
So I believe if you render the Sample-Scene from here (the one with the oranges) with the 10200x6800 Resolution, you should be able to have all these problems yourself. I can't imagine its only here.

@Fox,
I agree that i might have to do with the Refresh cycles. In such case if we know that these cycles must be adjusted to render higher resolution, i suggest that this is done automatically. Possibly other users may not come here to read your combination (that i will try next).
Currently doing a test-Render with 4K and no problems.
Even have at the same time EVEE Rendering an Animation. No problems.

So will have to look for these "Refresh cycles" where they are.
What exactly is the reason that i must set it to low resolution first?

I really can't find how to set the timer before render start.
The lag doesn't let you to change the value, so better to start with small resolution. After that it remembers last used value.

Yes, now i understand. I render it with a low res, then its automatically set to a low value. Then increase Resolution and it will keep the low value.
Good trick!
May I ask development to make it a little bit more practical?

PS: Just rendering. Will test it in the next days.
