Good afternoon, dear developers and users of amazing LUXCORE!
I am glad to greating you to this community!
Please tell me how to configure such lamps?
I think that for the right picture you need to use the light inside the lamp cover. But if you use only this light source - will it give more noise when passing through the Matte Translucent material? Is it worth adding down another invisible light source for better lighting and control?

Re: Lighting Strategy for lamps with cover
The most efficient solution should be to make the light cover "light transparent" and to use an IES profile for the light source that takes in account the cover. If you can not build an appropriate IES profile, an area light with an emission angle should still produce a credible result too.Snowcarver wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 5:33 pm Please tell me how to configure such lamps?

Simulating the true light source model would be very expansive from the rendering time point of view.

Hi, play around a bit and get good results with a case itself is a emitter.
Use a rough glass with area produce a lot of noise as Dade mention.
I am not good at Luxcore materials but it shows what happen.
The denoiser remove the noise very good so it is a compromise of render time and realistic look, as usual.
Cheers, mib
