Re: MaxToLux - 3ds Max Integration for LuxCore
its good . you have to use the setup of version 0.03 to uninstall properly
Re: MaxToLux - 3ds Max Integration for LuxCore
Thank you to mention that, Old version needs to be uninstalled through the installer or in Add/Remove program inside the windows control panel. it may list with the name "Installer" there.you have to use the setup of version 0.03 to uninstall properly
or you can simply use this uninstaller -> http://3dfine.com/down/lux/LuxCoreMax-v0.0.3.zip

Re: MaxToLux - 3ds Max Integration for LuxCore
A few suggestions.
3dsmax has a different scale system and the scene inside 3dsmax are big.
As a result, you need to use light with a little bit hight power around 50-100 or higher value for larger scenes.
Disable gamma in 3dsmax (Rendering-> Gamma) for better results until I figure out a good solution, or at least try to render with and without gamma to see which one is better for your scene.
Use standard spot/omni/directional light
Always use a physical camera.
let Plugin decide which is the best for render.
Metropolis and Sobol sampler works best in my opinion.
Use a reflector or an object as a light softener in scenes works way better than use too many direct lights As real-life lighting, depends on what you want to do, of course, it's not performance friendly but better in lighting.

I've put link to your plugin (from your signature) to luxcore trello... Hope that's ok with you
Re: MaxToLux - 3ds Max Integration for LuxCore
Great, that's nice. Thank you.
That's my Trello id "omid_ghotbi" if I need to add or manage MaxToLux there.

I tried the sample scene but when press render i get error message :
An exception occurred while rendering with 3ds Max.
This render will abort. If you render again without resolving the exception, you may experience instability.
Wrong number of values in property: scene.textures.Map_1.file
Re: MaxToLux - 3ds Max Integration for LuxCore
Is there a space in file name ? It should be enclosed in " " in that case.
Re: MaxToLux - 3ds Max Integration for LuxCore
It's a known issue with a too-long image path for textures. When I parse a too long file address in LuxCore it can not find the image file.
I'm trying to fix it.
For now, you can just move your project in a smaller path, for example, d:\temp or such.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
It's a brand new plugin and there are so many things do work on, I'm trying my best.
Let me if this fixes the issue.
