Mantaflow fluid support

Post by Sharlybg »

I just discover that we don't support Mantaflow while trying some smoke fire test for a tutorial . When can we expect the support from this ?

There is no planned timeframe yet.
If anything happens, it'll be visible on this issue: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/BlendL ... issues/380

Thanks for the input. I was seing it more like luxcore thing than a blendluxcore ( i mean addon side).

I think only addon changes are needed.

I have pushed a first fix for support of mantaflow in Blender 2.82. There are a lot of bugs in Blender still. It crashes very often.

Thank you neo. Are crashes due to blendluxcore mantaflow support code or blender mantaflow itself ?

The crashes are due to blender mantaflow code, e. g. cache file management.

Note: We might add a new node for mantaflow support in the future, as I suggested here: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/BlendL ... t-38582533
So don't create big projects with the current smoke node yet, only do tests (I shouldn't have to say this since we are not in beta yet, but just to make sure).
