Yes, also the lighting is different..but if you make a poll and ask "choose from noise and lighting what is the most different from lux and octane", I'm quite sure that 95% reply "noise".

I'm not sure it a just a matter of clamping...if you want to test this...why don't try to find the clamping value to have that kind of noise free on the surface that receive light?
In my opinion, in Lux it seems that we have always difficulties to clean not just the shadowed surfaces but the lighted too.
If it is a question of light quality Luxcore far ahead here look how dull octane render look. Look like extrem CGI and miss a lot of lighting detail. In octane the only clamping avalue available just Clamp GI. direct light seem to be automatically applied internally.

It is not fair to compare them like that. This is the reason why the thread is called Luxcore Vs Octane Preparation test to avoid unfair battle and hidden cheating.

Will be just good to have possibility to clamp Luxcore direct light independently from Gi light them we can compare.

In Octane look place where walls are under light and compare light quality to Luxcore. Note also that this is a test before we can test RGB vs SPECTRAL renderer So quality matter a lot here.

I wonder how you set ip the light sources in octane. Did you check if the direct lights have the same relations? I mean the relation between out door floor and top lights. It might be that the relations are the same in both renderers. Just check it in a 32bit image.

Also for me, the real difference of these two results is the noise. How achieves octane such a clean image in the same time?
