Is Rob not on board any more?
That would be very sad.
I thought he was waiting till v2.2 is release ready to start building a MacOS version.
With the many daily builds during development it made no sense to keep up with it all since there are like only three Mac users on the forum.

Not that I really need GPU rendering on my MacBook but after further testing, now also with the LuxCore.app, it seems the Iris doesn't work at all, even on simple scenes like the Cornell Box it crashes immediately (sigabrt). This is not the case with the old 2.1 version where it works on small scenes like you said.

Given that I run both versions on the same system with the same drivers this is somehow strange.
Because MacOS forces the dedicated nVidia graphics in Blender to do the screen rendering (OpenGL?), the UI becomes unresponsive when OpenCL rendering is added. The Iris sitting idle in the background would be better to use for this but now it just refuses :)

Now for some other issue I have when trying to render some of the example scenes like the benchmark scene or Danish Mood.
The render stops with a strange error that a texture pic in the temp directory cannot be opened while it is easily accessible in the Finder :?

Yes i also got this error... something like jpg version 90 and caller expects 80.

It might be the jpeg version but so far i could not figure out if all the deps are up to date.

Can anyone give a list of the newest version of the deps used now ??

No idea why the iris works for you in 2.1 mine has the same issues.

The iris was used for the image pipeline so i thought it would work. But not for rendering.

When i disable the iris in BlendLuxCore all seems to be fine.

Running Version 10.13.6 (17G8030) here.

Thanks for quick response!

I think it's ok when the Irises don't render, it's an old problem we're all used to mainly due to shitty drivers so I'm not asking for you to look further into it.

Sadly I don't know anything about jpg types, sorry to be no help there :(

Have to take all back .... 2.1 seems to render luxball-carpaint with iris and gtx750m .So you were right. but i have no idea why.

I'll try jpeg v9c ... lets see if we can get rid of this error.

One sec ..
