PSR is never going to be reliable and/or easy to use, I give up. I will now on pursue a photon mapping/vertex merging solution. Photon mapping has is fair share of problems (notice the dark borders on polygon edges) but it is a least something I can work on.
Good, if it's not supposed to work auto-magically then we need something better

It's sad, but understandable...
Does it mean the replacing of Hybrid rendering too?

No, why ? It is just a different solution only for SDs paths (like PSR was), I don't want to touch stuff that works well.

OK, so photon mapping will be used here for SDS paths only.
It wasn't clear for me.

I removed the PSR support.
