I just registered to ask the same question as em3d. I'm researching on using Luxcore on my workflow and this looks super interesting. I would like to use it for all my library and also add some to the publicly available ones if it's desirable, but if I have to always trust a server somewhere on the internet it kind of breaks the deal. It's super nice and useful to have the online library, but I need to be able to use my local library as well.

But looks awesome!

I'm not sure to understand you :? .When you click on a thumbnail the first time the object is download to your hard drive once for ever like in a regular download in any website or library . What is different here is that all the process is automated the library is already in front of you. The next time you click on a alrady downloaded file the library laod the object from your hard drive (no re_downlaod).

And you can use your local library as well just put your blend in the same directory as the library + your blend file name to match the your thumbnails name.
will do a tut on it.

Sadly, that is not correct. At the moment, you cannot add assets locally but that feature is planned. Manually copied files are ignored because they are not in the table of content file where special metadata is stored, e.g. bounding box of the object collection.

Are you sure? The addon only considers assets in the table of context json file on the server and compares the hash code if it find a suitable file in the local hard disk cache directory.

Sorry for the delay on answering. The website is offline, so I can't download the plugin. But it's coming on Luxcore itself right? Is there a timeframe of when it might be released?

The workflow I'm developing needs to be as safe as possible, so being all in one plugin is great. Either way I can't test for the reasons above, but as neo2068 mentioned, having my own assets easy to dynamically add in a safe and robust system that doesn't require any internet connection to function is the ideal. Until then I'll just keep manually searching and linking collections.

By the way, congratulations for everyone involved. I tried so hard to make the system work with cycles but it's crazy difficult to get reallistic images on it in complex scenes. Luxcore... just works. It's beautiful! It will take days to convert all the system but I hope it will be worthy.

And once I start getting jobs I hope to be a backer of the development for sure!

You can already test it with the 2.4 daily build here :
for noobs(like me)

First download latest blender addon to make sure you have latest fixes and features exposed, here:
https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/BlendL ... master.zip

then donwload daily build depending on your OS and if you want opencl enabled version here:
https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/LuxCor ... tag/latest

install addon first

then copy daily build files over to addon -> "BLENDLUXCORE/BIN" (depending on OS your blender addons might be installed in different places)

You should now have latest addon and luxcore daily build.
