Hi everybody.
It's been about two months since my last post but the world is in a crisis because of coronavirus so we are too in France.
By the way, as we are in quarantine at this moment and I have more time to spend on the LuxCoreRenderer project, I finished the selection device for render part and now it's possible to select between hardware devices for render and use just selected device.
At the moment it works for up to 3 devices, just to be sure it's working properly and maybe use a list box in the future to show as many devices as available for render.

Why is always the addon so hard to find ?
Is it usable ?
A friend of mine told me the xth time that the original place to the addon isn't showing any thing related to download.

Should we say to people that Max and luxcore have an addon bridge or it is more alpha closed dev thing ?

Hi, everyone.
I can pin a post pointed to download link and update it every time that I release a new build or you can go back in this forum thread and find it by yourself.
Anyhow it's not a finished version and it's more like the Alpha test phase, the old plugin was so rusty and almost useless to work with so I use a small part of it and you can see that in new shaders and other parts of projects that almost complete.
I can render a good quality image with the new build but many parts of code are hard-coded and need more work to be used in real production.
As I'm a busy developer I can work on MaxToLux only in my spare time so I can't promise it will be finished soon, life needs money too.
But I will try my best to at least build a stable version for the beta test very soon.
And also I will release a build version of the new plugin so you can test all of the new features and of course give me some feedback on it.
Please understand this point, the MaxToLux plugin is really close to the beta phase but at the same time, I'm so busy with other projects too.
I'll promise, you will be able to try a new build with so many features very soon.

Hi.
Dave a little help here, please.
I face old issues that really need to be fixed.
When I render the scene without any bump everything looks fine but as soon as I add any bump texture odd shadow on objects begin to appear and it looks like about shadows stopper or segment issue or some other problems.
Here some images to look at and of course dumb scene.

It looks to me like the bump is just way too strong.
Use a scale texture between the imagemap und the .bumptex slot to multiply the imagemap with something like 0.001.

That solves the issue, I can still see a little bit black when I try to apply bump but it's acceptable.

About the odd shadow on objects, I tried to use scale texture in between bump and normal map it somehow works and didn't dork at the same time.
When scale parameter is too low it seems work but with really small value. I barely can see the effect.
Especially about Normal Map. Maybe there is an issue with Normal direction.

Are you using the "normalmap" texture in LuxCore? It has a "scale" property.

Maybe the problem is about input value in the Normal map.

What exactly the input value is?
Is that another image map or texture or something else?
I tried to input another image/texture but I get the same result.
