MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
Re: MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
I agree but I do not have enough time to maintain the plugin for 3dsmax, Maya, and create new scenes, you all can help with creating the object or scene part, so I can work better on MaxToLux and MayaToLux.

Re: MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
For many reason It's a priority for a developer to get feedback from the community. Without that MaxToLux can't grow properly.
Personally I have time for now because of a lockdown, but after my time will be limited. If many partecipate actively even reporting once a while, things will speed up.

Re: MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
You can look at the Autodesk Scene convertor presets, you need a little bit of information to start changing it for luxCore or even use the UI inside 3dsmax to create preset and just save it as preset it will create the code for you.
Super easy. If you have time.

If you have time.
Btw, what is the easiest way, to create preset to convert, from physical material to maxtolux?
as i saw the rendering engines install their presets for conversion, so those rendering engines setted scene might be first converted to physical and from physical to maxtolux. I'm correct or wrong?
Re: MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
when you create a convertor you should consider as many renderer as possible, the best way is to start from one renderer as a base, for example, Vray and then extend it for other renderers.patro wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 12:31 pmThanks, I saw yesterday on the max online help. Re: MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
Strange, I looked on my system for this route and I discover it is completely empty, beside you have also language directories, which I don't have, maybe on max 2021 the changed something. I will find the vray and corona preset or i will save them as edited versions, somewhere they must hide.TAO wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 11:02 am You can look at the Autodesk Scene convertor presets, you need a little bit of information to start changing it for luxCore or even use the UI inside 3dsmax to create preset and just save it as preset it will create the code for you.

In a directory, I have just the maxtolux empty presets which I've created.
Re: MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
Do not use the script just use the UI in 3dsmax and create a new one it is much easier and will create the script for you.patro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:32 amStrange, I looked on my system for this route and I discover it is completely empty, beside you have also language directories, which I don't have, maybe on max 2021 the changed something. Re: MaxToLux - Autodesk 3ds Max Integration for LuxCoreRender
Because you simply used Art.ms convert script. you need to add LuxCore to it.
Name of class and superclasses. And also, for every object, you will need to create a script in ConversionScripts too.
so the converter knows which parameters should be converted to which. not hard because you just need to edit the existing one but not that easy to just use a button.
