select ctrl + B the most problematic area, small, and do quick renderings only of it. Conveniently, you can switch slots in the view of ready renders

Thank you ! I do know the video. It is hard to remember where and when to go to check it. Also the explanation about the feature is not really clear. I just repeated what you did and put the clamp value on 50. It could be nice to understand why and what I am doing that.

Thank you for your invaluable resources! It would help if we had a more in depth manual.

Thank you for your help! I will try and if I do not succeed I would like to send it to you.

I am now using the clamp feature as suggested by the other user and wrote 50 in the value. Following the video he did he seems to use that value for the caustics. Do I still need to use the denoiser feature you suggested in 10 (the advance feature).

Using a value of 50 Max bright in clamp features...still gives me an endless render. Do you think it might be the settings in the denoiser ?

Set the Clamp value to 1 first.
Make a test render of a small section of the image.
Then set the value to 2-4. Check again.
You need such a value when there will be no fireflies, but the scene will not lose in lighting.
Most likely, a value in the region of 5-8 will suit you.


Yes, the lower this value, the longer it takes to render.


Values below 20 are used for completely flawless, perfect results.
The fireflies should also disappear at 75 if the Clamp is set correctly.

Indeed the clamping feature at mac brightness 5 give me a almost free fireflies...at 5500 samples...
I guess...then a render of 1000 x 1000 will take 4 hours.

ok I exaggerated driven by my frustration: It will be around 1 hr for 1000px
