Good afternoon.
I am a new user in the LuxCoreRender.
Could you please help me with realistic curtain material.
By default, I tried using a node MATTE TRANSLUCENT Material.
Everything is fine, but I do not see the sunlight inside the room.
Maybe I need to make a mix of materials (something special for FACTOR) or turn off visibility curtain object in the shadows.
I will accept any advice.
Many thanks!

Re: Realistic curtain material
It is a side effect (i.e. a limit) of how path tracing works. Direct light sampling can not go trough an object, it doesn't matter if it is transparent or not. Path tracing has not other (practical) way to find the sun. For the same reason, path tracing is really bad at rendering caustics.
Lux v2.3beta2 has a work around for this problem, called shadow rays transparency: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1474
You can set the shadow rays transparency of your MATTE TRANSLUCENT material and it will work as expected.

Are you already installed the v2.3beta2 viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1805 ?
Re: Realistic curtain material
After you have installed the v2.3beta2, you can set the shadow color to something not black:Dade wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 11:08 amAre you already installed the v2.3beta2 viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1805 ?
