Indirect specular\glossy with alpha

Post by Rivental1 »

Hello. Is it possible to get indirect glossy (or any other pass) with alpha? In cycles no. And it is strange for me, after usage v-ray , corona and physical render from cinema 4d where each pass it is image with transperent background. It is very usefull for compositing.

Can't you just use the output of the Alpha AOV in compositing?
Since an alpha channel needs memory, it would increase the memory usage a lot to add an alpha channel to each AOV.
But maybe I misunderstand what you mean.

Thanks!
Well, now it looks like this:

So, how to remove black area and leave only glossy? I tried to add diffren keyers in compositor, but somehow they do not work.

No need to key, you could pull luminance key if really wanted. But aov's are supposed to be added together. Perhaps you need something else than indirect glossy
