Luxrender vs Cycles NOISE

Hello friends.
I'm a new luxcorerender user, within Blender 2.8.
I've taken a scene built around cycles and fired up with luxrender.
The first i've done is with all the caches enabled and Sobol NOT DENOISED
The second one is with BIDIR and METROPOLIS
The third one is the cycles reference.
All those setups took around 50 minutes to complete. The Metropolis one took slighty more, around 70 minutes
Using a i7-7700 only cpu compute device.
I confess i'm a bit disappointed about all the noise luxrender generates, but i feel it's due to a faulty setup in the scene.
I've only 2 lights in the scene. One inside the shower, one out of the windows, textured emission. (1 area light, 1 mesh light -1 face-)
The only thing i changed in lux configs is the Auto brightness of the camera (which, honestly, i don't know why it comes ON by default.. this is a bit confusing for the new users IMHO)
That said, i can attach the scene if this helps understand why -or if- i'm doing something wrong.
Luxrender is amazing.. thank you all for developing this great piece of software!
