I have no idea. It could be issues in your OS/hard drive, maybe permission problems (normal files mixed with files created as administrator?). But those are just wild guesses.

Packed images need to be saved to disk before LuxCore can read them, they are saved into the temp folder. Maybe you don't have permission to access your temp folder? Would be weird though.

PGI is disabled on view port rendering (if the at is the meaning of "preview") so I doubt it can crash your renders.

Did you check if you have orphan data? If you have, purge it all. Eventually you must uncheck fake user. Materials without objects get lost in orphan data if you save and reopen the scene. I have no idea why materials disappear this way in not recoverable orphan data. Who knows what these data affect.
Do all your objects have a material definition? Crashes seem to depend on material issues.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce it here with your scene, even on win10.
Does it only happen if you save/load the cache?

sometimes yes sometime no. But when it start to happen no matter you have C/S enable or not it crash. When i create a fake .pgi file and enable C/S the .pgi file get destroyed by the crash.
