Did you try the denoiser?

First

and second

CPU is Core i5-4570

HDRI on first scene has mostly scattered light (cloudy sky), while on second has clear sky and bright sun.
I started render with dispersive glass, but it is running at 18k samples/sec, not going to converge any time soon.

Nope, not yet. I like those noise pattern done by Metropolis :)
But I'll give it a try.

Glass Blocks with denoiser

1800 samples, Bidir+Random.
Depth 16
Adaptive Strength 0.7
Filter None
Denoiser:
Histogram Distance Treshold: 1.00
Search Window Radius 6

I think that image didn't need any denoiser, it was too ugly to try and fix it with denoiser :D
And I forgot to turn on Bloom. I switched it off, because it produced some funny looking spots.

Is it not possible to apply camera effect after render stops by halt condition?
Btw, here is the scene. Rendered with layers 0-8, but not 19. Glass dispersion is probably on.

I forgot to mention, timings are for 2 out of 4 cores. I don't like luxcore to take all my cpu for itself.

No, once the render is stopped, Blender does not allow us to edit it anymore.

Why? What operating system do you use? I use Windows 10 and this manges threads very well. I let rendering in background and work with a second blender modelling something else. Even view port rendering with luxcore keeps still possible.

You make very interesting renderings by the way!

It's Windows 7. Besides, working at 100% load my CPU gets really hot, maybe it's thermal interface's fault. It's wearing cpu fan and my ears. I like to keep quiet.

Thank you :D
