Another interior scene

Post by sbtracker »

No denoising on this one as it was loosing too much detail...again it should have been left a little longer :D

Hi Sharlybg....Thankyou for your kind words. I have a very old p.c. Intel Xeon X5650, 24 core with multi-thread and Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 video card(pretty much useless now). It took around 3 1/2 hours to render but its quite a heavy scene(2.4 gig) with a lot of displacement on the fabrics.

Just Environment light cashe enabled...two smallish windows in the scene and an area light to try combat noise.

You may get a good Speed boost With GI cache. maybe try this setting if you want to test :

Keep in mind that i have just done it like this according to the infos you give about your current scene. So maybe it will require tweak for a differente interior project.
Anyway keep up the good job.

I have just rendered this with your settings, it took only 1 hour and I think the quality looks very similar. Notice the difference in the corner behind the lamp where the walls meet, weirdly there is no longer a gap as in the original image.

Try to render 1.5x - 2x size for the same amount of time than this slightly noisy image => run OIDN denoise => downscale to the desired size.
