A study project to see how Luxcore fit in my pipeline, really liked it :D

Things I really miss from the renderers I use (Cycles and Corona):
- Changing color of sky (not a big problem, but would be easier for artistic control)
- Light paths to control color bleed (had to reduce it in Affinity Photo only on white surfaces)

Rendered in Ryzen 2600x, only CPU
- 30min per frame
- Light tracing on
- GI and Env. Cache on

DLSC was giving too much firefly, maybe a messed its configs

Anyway, loving the development of Luxcore

Cool renders, DLSC is for cases with a lot of lightsources, should be avoided in any other case.
I agree about more control over sky.

Controling lightpaths/rayswitching is requested for some time on github. Problem is the lighttracing part off the renderer/caches and bidir too AFAIK. But hopefuly at some point it gets done.

A very beautyfull project. But look like you loose a lot of performance.

1__ i don't see any reason to enable light tracing here

2__ you have pretty big open Windows the render should be faster

3__ you also render at lower than 1k

What kind of shader for the Windows panel ?
Also can we see your PGI setting ?

Really nicely done!

I like how the third photo is almost burnt out, but you can still just see the floor texture. Make's it feel 'bright', as the sun would be without ruining the render.

About 1 - At first I would render a close shot of a glass and ended forgetting it

2 - I just put 30min on halt condition

3 - the original ones was 1600x2000px, and by the time taken it still got noise in some areas

At the end, I find it to be very fast... Any suggestion is welcome

Glass window is a Glass mat set to architectural, PGI is the default

Ah ok at 2k it make sense now. if you disable light tracing there is perf as you say.

what are your PGI setting ?

PGI is the default, I didn't change it

so you should reduce brute force radius scale to something between 1 and 2.

Interesting, I'll make some tests in next projects, thanks!
