Orange juice tutorial

Just another Luxcore :

Use luxcore Volume system to create an orange juice effect. Also learn how new shadow color feature can help improve result of this kind of render.
No light tracing or Caches involved.

Its funny how many tests been done on this forum without correct result for this bloody orange juice and you just did it without any problems. Perfect :) Thanks for that :)

I absolutely agree, it does look almost perfect. Looks like something I would drink!

I will still complain though(LOL) this should be all possible within a single shader (no volume setup with priorities etc).
And in the video the water/juice to glass tension was very dark, a dark outline visible around the glass where it touches juice.But that might be a detail easy to fix.

One way or another I'm still surprised I didn't manage to do this myself. And I have no idea where I went wrong in my endless attempts.

Very useful tutorial. You made a great job!

Most important topic for me is to always check shadow color in future if I am working with glass and/or liquids.

I guess The Orange Juice was pretty impossible to get it shiny and colorful in LuxCoreRender without the shadow color feature.

(All other parameters shown in the tutorial are quite usual in my opinion but did not lead to success on their own.)

Volme setup makes sense for me. But altering shadow color, naaah.. not too sure about that one.

there is no way around this. Most engines assume transparent shadows for glass/transimtant materials otherwise you would have to calculate full caustics. For example cycles does automatically compute shadows for glass as transparent, and corona too. Corona also allows for full opaque shadows by enabling caustics(something you would do in luxcore in 2 steps, leave/enable black shadows and enable lighttracing - caustic cache)

You did a real artwork.
Why artwork?
What makes it art?
Its the fact that it looks "More then orange juice like normal original orange juice".
In real Art you see an apple. Its an apple. An perfect apple.
No apples like this are out there. But any child will learn how an apple looks with this artwork.

So your orange juice really looks like i want drink it!

PS: If you are looking for something that is really difficult and not yet solved, try the OPAL-Challenge.
Nobody until now has rendered an animation with a real OPAL-Setup.
