Big Sister

Post by Piita »

Hi guys!
Wow. That was a long break

Ever since Bioshock was released in 2007, the underwater city of Rapture has had its hooks in me. I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere, storytelling, game play, art and sound style.
Then Bioshock 2 came with even crazier plot twists, action and wtf-just-happened moments.
This is the Big Sister from Bioshock 2. I had loads of fun modeling this weird and interesting character with her creepy long legs and short torso and unmistakable outfit. Based on some detail renders by Blur studios.
Texturing in Substance Painter.

Edit: I was contacted by the awesome people at Blendernation.com and they asked me if I wanted to write something about the creation process for their behind-the-scenes series. Obviously this was unexpected but it was also an honor. You can read it here if interested: https://www.blendernation.com/2019/06/0 ... bioshock2/

Piita, you're back!

And even with a finished scene.
Great work! For the full bioshock feeling I'm missing the environment a bit - the fallen city under the sea has such an impressive atmosphere :)

 just missing bio ;) (environment), so it looks a bit unnatural (heavy equipment VS thin, fragile body), but Astounding, nonetheless. 8-)

I'd like to put some of these in the gallery, is that OK with you?
Should I link to a website/portfolio?
